In the global aerospace industry, PROCECO has engineered and supplied over 500 parts washers and cleaning systems, each of which far exceed conventional design standards. PROCECO offers several types of equipment to clean aircraft wheels and brakes: from batch-style washers for low production requirements to fully automated inline wash conveyors for higher productions.

  • The PROCECO TYPHOON®-AWW aircraft wheel washer is designed to process one wheel hub at a time mounted on a fixture. During the washing cycle, the wheel hub rotates and is sprayed from top, bottom, and sides. At the same time, a rotating brush removes rubber residues from the wheel.

    The PROCECO TYPHOON®-HD turntable washer configured for aircraft wheels cleans multiple wheel hubs loaded on a fixture. During the washing process, high-impact jets spray the hubs from bottom, top and side to remove soils. The TYPHOON®-HD is also the perfect solution for washing aircraft wheel brakes and associated hardware.

    A PROCECO inline conveyor washer is ideal for high production requirements. Hubs loaded on the conveyor pass through a high-pressure wash equipped with a spinning nozzle arrangement that ensures cleaning solution will cover the entire surface of the wheel hub to remove tenacious soils.

    All of the washers described above include a rinse stage to remove chemical residue. Other options such as blow-off and dryer stages are available to improve the overall performance of the equipment.

  • Washing aircraft wheels is necessary as part of the repair and overhaul process. Wheels need to be properly cleaned prior to inspection, non-destructive testing, or repairs.

  • PROCECO has designed many solutions for OEMs as well as smaller wheel shops performing wheel and brake MRO to help meet their production and cleaning requirements.

Landing gear must be properly cleaned as part of the manufacturing process in order to remove solid contaminates that could damage seals during normal operation. Landing gear may also need cleaning prior to heat treatment, painting, or subsequent surface treatments.

  • The PROCECO TYPHOON®-HD heavy-duty turntable washer cleans landing gear. Operators place workpieces directly on the turntable or on a custom-designed work fixture. During the washing cycle, the turntable rotates and exposes the parts to high-pressure spray jets from the top, bottom and sides. PROCECO can configure the TYPHOON®-HD to meet various process requirements.

    For larger landing gear, PROCECO offers the VRCP Vertical Reciprocating Nozzle Frame washer. Operators mount the landing gear vertically in the VRCP cabinet then spray manifolds oscillate up and down to spray the entire surface of the part. PROCECO can also configure the VRCP to meet specific process requirements.

  • Landing gear requires cleaning during the manufacturing process to remove machining chips and coolants before assembly. In some cases, landing gear must be cleaned prior to subsequent surface treatment, in which case thorough rinsing of the part is critical.

  • PROCECO has designed many solutions for OEM manufacturers of new landing gear or companies that perform landing gear maintenance and overhaul.

Turbine engine components require proper cleaning as part of the manufacturing process in order to remove solid contaminates that could damage them during normal operation. Turbine engine components may also need cleaning prior to inspection or subsequent surface treatments.
