High-Pressure Deburring Technology

Proceco's high-pressure water jet technology uses up to 10,000 pounds per square inch to effectively remove loose burrs, trapped debris and chips from narrow cavities, threads and edges of aluminum and steel parts. The high pressure water stream is accelerated to supersonic speeds to effectively remove burrs and non-parent metal which could potentially detach during assembly or operation subsequently causing component failures.

Proceco engineers develop processes using a wide range of nozzle configurations, from precision aimed and probing nozzles to rotary probing and rotary jet nozzles. Parts may be fixtured for continuous processing or directly manipulated by articulating or Cartesian robots. The use of robotics achieves high precision and process flexibility by adapting to various part configurations. Because Proceco's hydro deburring technology uses continuously recirculated filtered liquid, a consistently high level of precision cleaning or deburring can be achieved. As an added bonus, this technology is solvent free and environmentally safe.

Hydro-Deburring Integrated into a Parts Washer

To provide a complete turn-key solution, high-pressure deburring stage can be integrated into a Proceco's cleaning systems or in a custom engineered system. These systems can include cleaning to specs, rinsing & drying or other operations such as, phosphating, rustproofing, marking or leak testing.

Accu-Jet®
High-Speed CNC High-Pressure Deburring System

The Proceco Accu-Jet® is a five-axis, CNC controlled, hydro-deburring machine tool designed to flush and deburr precision metal or plastic parts.

At the heart of the Accu-Jet® is a four-axis CNC controlled Cartesian gantry robot designed to pick a part from a conveyor, flush and deburr machined surfaces and narrow cavities using high-pressure water at high speed, and replace the parts onto a conveyor. Cycle times can be greatly reduced with an optional fifth axis, allowing simultaneous processing of multiple parts features. High-pressure water up to 10,000 psi is recirculated and filtered to provide a closed-loop and environmentally friendly process.

The Accu-Jet® is also available with optional feed conveyors, high impact air blow-off, and vacuum drying to provide users with a complete integrated solution.

Part manufacturers seeking flexibility, reliability and repeatability can rely on the Proceco Accu-Jet® to solve their production deburring requirements.

Accu-Jet Advantages:

  • Integrated parts loading and unloading
  • Full four-axis CNC programmable movement with optional 5th axis
  • Fastest hydro-deburring cycle time in the industry
  • Exclusive gripper design allows access to all workpiece surfaces sides without re-gripping
  • Can accommodate up to 12 deburring nozzles of various configurations
  • Bolt-on tooling; flexible and easy to service
  • Compact footprint
  • Sturdy welded, brushed stainless steel cabinet; 100% solution containment
  • Easily reconfigurable to changing part configurations

SK-400
Six-Axis, Robotic High-Pressure Deburring System

The SK-400 is a six-axis robotic cleaning and deburring system designed to remove burrs, chips, and non-parent material from medium size complex machined components. Using high-pressure water jets through a rotary lance nozzle, the articulated robot is programmed to position the lance to deburr all machined holes, intersections and difficult-to-access cavities of a workpiece mounted on a fixture. The lance precisely sprays the pressurized water-base solution to clean and deburr in one operation. After the cleaning stage, air is directed through the lance nozzle, and the robot passes through all machined areas again, blowing excess solution from the part.

The SK-400 is a flexible system that combines reliability, precision and quality suited for machining shop environment.
