Post-machining Cleaning, Automation and Integration

Starting out as a manufacturer of batch type cleaning cabinets for automotive remanufacturers and railroads in the US and Canada, Proceco (www.proceco.com) has matured into a global provider of automated and integrated cleaning systems.

After three years of process research and product development, Proceco now offers additional new value to its Automotive Tier1 and 2 customer base. An ISO 9001 and QS 9000 certified company, Proceco provides post-machining integrator expertise, assuming single-source responsibility for supplying all process equipment and automation necessary after primary machining. Cleaning, hydro-deburring, drying, surface treating, de-magnetizing, testing, gauging and marking can now be delivered in one package.

"Relentless price pressure by OEMs has forced suppliers to seek low-wages offshore or to streamline their North American operations by using more automation and integration," says Helmut Schauer, CEO, Proceco. "Record order bookings in 2004 confirm the merit of the single-source concept."

More than 90% of new orders within NAFTA come from repeat customers. "Joining forces between Proceco and their customers to increase the value added at home is going to be the future strategy for keeping manufacturing viable and strong in North America," explains Robert Burns, President of Proceco. "Farsighted customers also understand that it is worth investing up-front to design processes and equipment with future re-configurability in mind. Through collaboration, Proceco has been able to help customers cut costs in the long run."
